About Tala Fahoum

Tala is an Associate in our International Arbitration Group and Global Projects Disputes Practice.

She has experience working in arbitration and litigation with particular focus on commercial disputes in the Middle East.

She has advised corporate clients in relation to arbitrations under various rules, including the DIFC-LCIA, DIAC, SCC, and UNCITRAL, and in relation to disputes before the DIFC Courts and the UAE Courts.

Tala is a native speaker of English and Arabic and is fluent in French

  • Claimants in an ICSID claim brought against the State of Kuwait under the Egypt-Kuwait BIT, relating to the development of the Heritage Village Project in Kuwait.
  • An international investment company respondent in a DIAC arbitration concerning a multi-million dollar UAE real estate project.
  • A major oil and gas company in relation to multi-billion dollar defect claims arising from the design of an onshore gas processing facility in Australia.
  • A global hotel chain in a contractual dispute against its tenant before the ADGM Courts.
  • A major automotive company in relation to several claims (arbitration and litigation) filed by its joint venture partners following termination of several agreements in the Middle East.

This included making one of the first applications before the Judicial Tribunal, and registering a settlement agreement before the UAE Courts.
