Ruth Musgrave is Freshfields' Co-Chief Knowledge Officer.

She is based in London and co-leads a global team of Knowledge Lawyers and other Knowledge professionals. She and her team connect people and knowledge to enable the firm's lawyers to provide market-leading client service, help grow the business of the firm and strengthen client relationships, and support the firm’s lawyers in developing their legal skills.

She is responsible for the firm's knowledge strategy, and her role involves capturing insights, responding to legal and market developments, and developing knowledge products and training for the firm’s lawyers and for clients. She also writes and contributes to client content and thought leadership on topical issues. She is a member of industry body working groups and committees.

Ruth's own main area of expertise is loan financing, and she has extensive experience in leveraged finance, corporate and acquisition financing, debt restructuring and secondary loan trading across a range of industries. Prior to joining Freshfields, Ruth was a senior associate in the banking practice of Clifford Chance in London and Madrid.
