About David Trott
David is a banking partner in our global transactions group. His practice covers real estate finance, acquisition finance and corporate treasury matters.
He advises borrowers and lenders on complex, multijurisdictional transactions, and has a client list that includes Apollo, Blackstone, Cerberus, TPG, AEA Investors, Debenhams, AON, Citibank and JP Morgan amongst others.
David also has a background in structured finance, which has given him an in-depth understanding of credit and on all aspects of the capital structure.
This understanding – and 25 years’ experience of working with a wide range of transaction participants – makes him an effective deal-maker.
David draws on his experience to anticipate the likely positions of the various parties and possible sticking points in a transaction, and clients know they can rely on him to get the job done.
Recent work
- Advising TPG on the refinancing of €1.4bn of debt across four facilities and 12 jurisdictions for its P3 logistics platform and its subsequent sale to GIC.
- Advising Apollo on the refinancing of its pan-European Opera commercial real estate portfolio.
- Advising JP Morgan on the acquisition by Oaktree Funds of the German commercial property loan portfolio of Nationwide Building Society.
- Advising Blackstone and TPG on the acquisition and financing of the Kensington mortgage business.
