About Lauren Vaca

Lauren is an associate in our antitrust, competition, and trade practice based in New York.

Lauren helps guide clients through the antitrust aspects of key mergers and acquisitions and advises clients facing antitrust investigations. She also helps prepare clients for key engagement with antitrust regulators and for testimony before federal grand juries.

Prior to joining Freshfields, Lauren was the Editor-in-Chief for the Notre Dame Journal of Legislation, was an Oralist for the Moot Court Board’s Phillip C. Jessup International Law Team, and was the Academic Chair of the Hispanic Law Students Association.

Recent work

  • Zymergen on its $300 million sale to Ginkgo Bioworks—the first-ever sale of a publicly-listed public benefit corporation.

  • Advised Cargill, one of the largest private companies in the US, in the $4.53bn take-private of Nasdaq-listed Sanderson Farms and the concurrent combination of Sanderson Farms with privately-held Wayne Farms.
