About Clémentine Vande Maele
Clementine is a principal associate in our antitrust, competition and trade group, based in the Brussels office. Clementine joined Freshfields as a legal consultant in 2017 and became an associate in 2018.
Prior to joining the firm, she completed a traineeship at the European Commission’s DG Competition.
Her practice covers antitrust investigations, including cartel and abuse of dominance probes, as well as European and multi-jurisdictional merger control analysis and filings. While on secondment to Freshfields’ Washington DC office (2020), Clementine acquired experience in merger litigation before a US federal court, and in US merger control proceedings before the Federal Trade Commission and the US Department of Justice.
Clementine is a member of the Paris and Brussels Bars, and works in English and French.
