Freshfields appoints a new managing partner for London
Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer (‘Freshfields’) has appointed a new managing partner for London. London-based partner Claire Wills succeeds Julian Long in the role, and will serve a three-year term starting from February 2019.
Claire Wills became a partner at Freshfields in May 2001 and has built a successful cross-border practice, covering mergers and acquisitions, complex restructurings, joint ventures and governance projects. She was appointed co-head of the firm’s global financial institutions sector group in December 2014.
As London managing partner, Claire will play a key role in running and promoting the firm’s business in London, as well as continuing her client work.
Commenting on her appointment, Claire said: “I am honoured to be taking on this role at a time when the changing landscape means that our clients need us more than ever. Our team in London is exceptional and I am proud of the results we collectively deliver for our clients, working together with our colleagues from around the world.”
