Freshfields announces 21 new partners

Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer LLP (‘Freshfields’) has announced the election of 21 new partners with effect from 1 May 2020.  Drawn from 12 of the firm’s offices, they are all outstanding lawyers and we are very proud that each new partner brings unique talents, skills and experience to our global partnership.  The full list of appointments is set out below.

Commenting on the promotions, Freshfields’ Senior Partner, Edward Braham said, “This is an exceptional group of lawyers. Freshfields is delivering expert advice and support to our clients through these uncertain times and these promotions reflect the contribution each of our new partners has made to our clients and our firm.  We continue to invest in the firm for the medium to long term and I am proud of the quality of our people.”

We continue to take active steps across the firm to improve diversity around talent from different backgrounds including race, ethnicity, LGBT+, disability and social mobility. We know that diverse teams perform better, to the benefit of our clients and the firm. Over the past few years we have delivered improvements, for example in the US where a quarter of the partnership is female and we are over 40% diverse on broader characteristics of diversity (women, ethnic/racial minority, LGBT+). In the last 6 years 49% of promotes in London and 55% in the US are diverse (women, ethnic/racial minority, LGBT+). We continue to work on improving inclusion and diversity through training, mentoring and sponsorship.
