About Sam Cheung
Sam is a Global Transactions associate based in our Hong Kong office. His practice focuses on mergers and acquisitions and general corporate and commercial matters.
Sam joined Freshfields in 2022 from Slaughter and May. He completed his Bachelor of Laws and the PCLL at the Chinese University of Hong Kong. He is admitted to practice in Hong Kong.
Sam speaks fluent English, Mandarin and Cantonese.

- Breitling on its acquisition of Universal Genève SA and its stock of watches from Stelux Holdings International Limited (HKSE: 84)
- Trill Impact and its portfolio company Allurity on the acquisition of Security Research Labs, a Berlin and Hong Kong based cybersecurity service provider, from its founder
- Quadria Capital on the sale of its 100% interest in FV Hospital, a private hospital group located in Ho Chi Minh City with an extensive clinical offering, to Thomson Medical Group
- Chinachem Group on its proposed privatisation by way of scheme of arrangement and delisting of ENM Holdings (HKSE: 128) from the Hong Kong Stock Exchange
- China Unicom (Hong Kong) Limited on the proposed spin-off of its subsidiary, China Unicom Smart Connection Technology Limited, on the Science and Technology Innovation Board of the Shanghai Stock Exchange
- Citigroup as financial adviser to Boston Scientific in its partial offer for a controlling stake in Acotec Scientific (HKSE: 6669)
- Carlyle on its acquisition of a majority stake in VLCC, a beauty and wellness solutions business with operations across India and the Middle East
- Warburg Pincus, through its maiden Asia real estate, on a significant investment into Evolution Data Centres, a founder-led platform for pan-South-East Asian hyperscale datacentre development
