About Eunice Leong

Eunice is a senior associate in the firm’s securities & shareholder litigation practice. Eunice represents public companies in securities and shareholder actions, as well as business and contractual disputes. She has extensive experience in state and federal courts, as well as arbitrations and mediations. 

Before joining Freshfields, Eunice focused on complex litigation and investigations at Hueston Hennigan in Los Angeles and Paul Weiss in New York. Her practice has included litigation over mass torts, shareholder rights, false advertising, trade secret misappropriation, copyright infringement, breach of contract, and anti-SLAPP. At Hueston Hennigan, she was part of the trial team that secured a nine-figure jury verdict under the Lanham Act for an energy drink manufacturer against a competitor. During law school, she was a general editor for the Cornell Law Review.

Eunice also has an active pro bono practice, including successfully advocating for Special Immigrant Juvenile Status clients. In her spare time, she enjoys fitness classes and completing the NYT crossword.

Recent work

  • Represented California utility company in coordinated tort actions and mediations arising out of 2017 and 2018 wildfires
  • Won nine-figure verdict for major beverage company against rival company in false advertising, tortious interference, and trade secret misappropriation case after month-long trial
  • Represented minority shareholders in derivative lawsuit alleging breaches of fiduciary duties, self-dealing, securities fraud, and conversion, leading to preliminary injunction issued by trial court that was later affirmed by the California Court of Appeal
  • Represented major technology company in multiple disputes, leading to dismissal of all claims in breach of warranty action involving semiconductors and settlement of another lawsuit seeking hundreds of millions of dollars in damages arising out of alleged copyright infringement and breach of contract  
  • Secured dismissal of action through anti-SLAPP motion on behalf of online database company, leading to published opinion from California Court of Appeal affirming lower-court decision
