About Ziyad Nassif

Ziyad advises corporate and institutional clients on cross-border corporate transactions, including public and private M&A, joint ventures and restructurings.

He advises clients across a broad range of sectors, including education, media, technology and leisure. Ziyad also regularly advises listed companies on corporate governance matters.

During his time at Freshfields, Ziyad has been seconded to the firm's Dubai office and to Pearson's corporate finance and strategy team.

Ziyad is fluent in English and Arabic.

Recent work

  • Advising AB InBev on its global combination with SABMiller, including the regulatory-driven divestiture of SABMiller's interest in the Peroni, Grolsch and Meantime businesses to the Asahi Group for €2.55bn.
  • Advising Pearson on various acquisitions, disposals and joint ventures, including the sale of the Financial Times Group to Nikkei for £844m and the sale of its 50 per cent stake in The Economist Group for £469m.
  • Advising RELX on various acquisitions and disposals by its LexisNexis Risk Solutions and LexisNexis Legal & Professional divisions.
  • Advising Foster Wheeler on its acquisition by AMEC in a cash-and-stock transaction valued at $3.3bn.
  • Advising the Rank Group on its acquisition of the casino business of the Gala Coral Group for £179m.
