About Ziyad Nassif

Ziyad is a partner based in our London Global Transactions Practice.

Ziyad acts for international corporate and FTSE100 clients. He acts for corporate and institutional clients on cross-border corporate transactions, including public and private M&A, joint ventures and restructurings.

He advises clients across a broad range of sectors, including technology, media, education and leisure. Ziyad also regularly advises listed companies on corporate governance matters.

Ziyad joined Freshfields in 2009 as a trainee, and has been seconded previously to the firm's Dubai office and to Pearson's corporate finance and strategy team.

Ziyad is fluent in English and Arabic.

  • Cazoo on its funding round and acquisition of Imperial Car Supermarkets.
  • A major global US headquartered tech company on a series of bolt-on private acquisitions of digital content related software businesses in Europe from founders and funders.
  • Lloyd’s Register, a global provider of professional services specialising in engineering and technology solutions, on the sale of its Business Assurance & Inspection Services division, including cyber-security business Nettitude, to Goldman Sachs Asset Management.
  • AB InBev on its global combination with SABMiller, including the regulatory-driven divestiture of SABMiller's interest in the Peroni, Grolsch and Meantime businesses to the Asahi Group for €2.55bn.
  • Pearson on various acquisitions, disposals and joint ventures, including the sale of the Financial Times Group to Nikkei for £844m and the sale of its 50 per cent stake in The Economist Group for £469m.
  • RELX on various acquisitions and disposals by its LexisNexis Risk Solutions and LexisNexis Legal & Professional divisions.
  • Foster Wheeler on its acquisition by AMEC in a cash-and-stock transaction valued at $3.3bn.
  • The Rank Group on its acquisition of the casino business of the Gala Coral Group for £179m.
  • Ferguson plc, a leading US distributor of plumbing and heating products, on the successful additional listing of Ferguson’s ordinary shares on the New York Stock Exchange (and the termination of Ferguson's American depositary receipt program in connection with such additional listing).
