About Emeric Tidafi

Emeric advises French, EU and foreign financial institutions on a wide range of French financial regulation matters.

His main areas of practice include:

  • advisory matters: advising on the full range or regulatory issues (e.g. licensing, AML/CFT, governance, regulatory capital, responding to the risks involded by regulatory change, FinTech, or sustainable finance);

  • regulatory transactions: transactions (e.g. M&A, group reorganisation or joint-venture) involving regulated financial institutions, where Emeric's practice covers the due diligence phase through to regulatory approvals; and

  • contentious matters: investigations and disciplinary proceedings by French regulators.

Clients advised are mainly banks, investment and payment services providers, broker dealers, and asset and wealth managers.

Recent work

Landmark experience includes assisting:

  • in 2022/2023, Milleis Banque on regulatory aspects of its combination with the French private bank Cholet Dupont-Oudart to become the 3rd largest independent French wealth manager;
  • in 2022, VINCI Airports SAS in the acquisition of an indirect minority controlling interest in a Mexican publicly traded corporation that maintains and develops 13 airports (Grupo Aeroportuario del Centro Norte, S.A.B. de C.V.) from Fintech Holdings Inc.;

  • in 2021, Siaci Saint Honoré and Burrus groups in their combination to create an independent European leader in insurance consulting and brokerage*; and

  • in 2020, the “Enlarged Working Group of creditors” on the restructuring of the EUR 2.7 billion indebtedness of Bourbon*,

Qualifications

Graduated from the Sorbonne Law School (Université Paris I Panthéon-Sorbonne) with a Master degree in business law (Master 2 Droit des affaires - class of 2021) and a Master degree in financial law (Master 2 Droit financier - class of 2020).
