About Ivo van Dijk

Ivo is a senior associate in the finance team in our firm’s Amsterdam office and joined the firm in 2011.

He has wide-ranging experience in general banking and structured finance transactions with a focus on syndicated lending, multi-jurisdictional financing arrangements, securitisations and portfolio sales.

Ivo combines an understanding of the technicalities with commercial flair and advises sponsors, corporate borrowers, financial institutions and strategic investors in connection with financing transactions accross the credit spectrum.

In 2016, Ivo was seconded to the legal team of a Dutch financial institution where he worked on a wide range of financing transactions.

In 2019, IFLR ranked him as a 'rising star' in structured finance.

Recent work

  • Rabobank and HSBC on the extension of a financing arrangement for TBG Europe.
  • CWT, a business travel company, on the refinancing of its debt financing arrangements.
  • ABN AMRO Bank, ING Bank and Rabobank on the refinancing of Ebusco, a Dutch pioneer and a forerunner in the development of electric buses and charging systems. The facilities provided include a highly complex, syndicated and secured export letters of credit line, facilitating the continuing growth of Ebusco’s business.
  • Wereldhave on a EUR 100,000,000 secured RCF with ABN AMRO as lender. This facility is an important part of the financing profile of Wereldhave, a listed Dutch real estate fund.
  • Morgan Stanley Tactical Value Investing on the investment in Arnold Participaties B.V., the ultimate holding company of Dutch employment agency Olympia.
  • Rabobank and a syndicate of lenders (TLB and RCF) on the financing arrangements made available to the TIP Trailer Group, which funds were, amongst others, used to finance the acquisition by the TIP Trailer Group of the PEMA Group and Trailer Wizards Group
  • RNHB B.V. (RNHB) on its acquisition of a commercial real estate loan portfolio of c. €1.3bn purchased from FGH Bank NV, a real estate bank specialising in commercial real estate financing.  RNHB is a speciality commercial real estate lender based in the Netherlands and is owned by a consortium between (a) funds managed by CarVal Investors and (b) Arrow Global Group Plc.  This included advising on the bid, corporate acquisition, equity structuring, financing made available by leading international lenders to fund the acquisition and regulatory aspects.  He also advised RNHB on a several refinancings of the acquisition debt, including, a capital markets transaction involving the issuance of listed and rated asset-backed securities.  
  • CNH Industrial N.V. on its multicurrency revolving credit facility provided by 21 financial institutions.
  • Koninklijke VolkerWessels on its corporate financing arrangements, which arrangement includes certain sustainibility features.
  • Alteri Investors on the acquisition of toy retailer Intertoys from Blokker Holding B.V.
  • RNHB on the acquisition of a Dutch commercial real estate portfolio from Propertize, a portfolio company of Lonestar, and related acquisition financing under facilities made available by HSBC.  RNHB is owned by a consortium between (a) funds managed by CarVal Investors and (b) Arrow Global Plc.  
  • Morgan Stanley (MS) on the acquisition, financing, sale and capital markets refinancing of a portfolio of Dutch non-conforming residential mortgage loans. MS acquired the loan portfolio from an existing securitisation SPV and refinanced the acquisition through a rated and listed Dutch residential mortgage backed securitisation.
  • The Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) on the financing of the acquisition by an equity consortium (led by Venn Partners, together with Siem Capital and KKR) of the Dutch residential mortgage origination business of GE Bank Artesia. He also advised RBS on a subsequent rated and listed capital markets refinancing of the initial acquisition debt, and establishment of additional forward flow origination warehouse funding platform.
  • Goldman Sachs on the financing of a newly established Dutch residential mortgage loan forward flow origination platform by Dynamic Credit.
  • JPMorgan on several Dutch RMBS transactions including regulatory capital relief transactions.
