On 18 and 19 October 2018, Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer invited clients and members of its StrongerTogether network to the annual CEE Finance Law and Debt Capital Markets Workshops in the Vienna office. Numerous representatives of regional and international banks, financial institutions and investors exchanged views on current topics with lawyers from 13 CEE countries.

A further highlight were guest speakers Friedrich Nell, legal counsel at the European Investment Bank, as well as Artem Shyrkozhukhov from the Office of the General Counsel of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, who shared their respective institution’s views and contribution to growth in the region.

The Capital Markets Workshop, led by Stephan Pachinger, focused on “Digital capital raisings”. It touched upon various recent developments on the capital markets in CEE, from initial coin offerings to liability management.
