Freshfields advises CVC on its acquisition of a stake in Webpros from Oakley Capital and other investors
Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer LLP (‘Freshfields’) is advising CVC Capital Partners, one of the world’s leading private equity and investment advisory firms, on CVC Fund VII’s acquisition of a stake in WebPros Group (‘WebPros’), a leading provider of web hosting automation software, from Oakley Capital Private Equity III2 (‘OCI’) and other investors.
As part of the transaction Oakley Capital IV will invest alongside CVC Fund VII as a minority partner to benefit from long-term growth opportunities and new product developments.
WebPros’ subsidiaries, cPanel and Plesk, have both established themselves as leading software solutions specialists over the past 20 years and have over 815,000 active server licences globally, providing services to more than 80 million websites.
Closing of the transaction is expected to take place in Q1 2020.
The Freshfields team is being led by global co-head of financial sponsors Charles Hayes, co-head of European leveraged finance Alex Mitchell, and Vincent Bergin.
