Freshfields advises Volkswagen AG in its $2.6 billion co-investment with Ford Motor Co. in Argo AI

Freshfields has advised Volkswagen AG (“VW”) as Intellectual Property/Information Technology, Antitrust and CFIUS counsel in its $2.6 billion co-investment with Ford Motor Co. in autonomous vehicle technology company Argo AI. The transaction involves a capital infusion into Argo AI by VW and the merger of VW’s own Autonomous Intelligent Driving into Argo AI. The multinational Freshfields team includes partners and associates in its New York, Washington, D.C., Berlin, Düsseldorf, Munich and Vienna offices. The transaction closed June 1, 2020.
