Freshfields delivers sixth consecutive year of revenue growth with strong global performance

Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer (Freshfields) has delivered its sixth consecutive year of revenue growth for the year ending 30 April 2022, with strong performance across all regions and practice groups.

Financial summary for the year ending 30 April 2022:

  • Revenue £1,701 million, an increase of 10 per cent at constant exchange rates
  • Profit per equity partner, £2.07 million

Performance highlights from the 2021/22 financial year:

  • Freshfields was named one of two law firms in the second edition of the Financial Times-Statista list of Europe’s Climate Leaders – a list comprising 400 companies that achieved the greatest reduction in greenhouse gas emission intensity between 2015-20 
  • As part of our five-year environmental strategy, Freshfields signed the Greener Litigation and Greener Arbitration Pledges – doubling down on our commitment to reduce the environmental impact of our practice
  • The firm published our first diversity and inclusion annual review to transparently share progress on our five-year global targets and commitments, with highlights including:
    • 48 per cent of our new partners joining the global partnership were women - surpassing our firm's target
    • Successfully delivering our sixth Global Sponsorship Programme – with more than 50 women at the firm promoted to counsel or partner having completed the initiative
    • 67 per cent increase in the number of black associates at Freshfields
    • LGBTQ+ partners now standing at four per cent, closing in on 2026 global target of at least five per cent
