The Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme - Further guidance published on 3/4 April 2020
The Government published further clarifications to the Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme (the Scheme) on 3/4 April 2020. The Scheme is the mechanism under which employers can obtain a grant from HMRC to cover 80% of earnings, subject to a cap of £2,500 per month, for any employees who are furloughed (i.e. who are suspended from active work).A copy of our existing client guide to the Scheme can be found here and should be read alongside this summary of the Government’s further clarifications. These clarifications are generally helpful and in some cases confirm (beneficial) changes to the operations of the Scheme.
