Freshfields advises Tishman Speyer on its acquisition of the “Q207” building in Berlin
Global law firm Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer (‘Freshfields’) has advised international real estate investor Tishman Speyer on the acquisition of the property “Q207” in Berlin. The transaction was undertaken on behalf of Tishman Speyer’s TSEV VIII value-added fund and co-investment partners. The vendor is Allianz Real Estate, acting on behalf of several Allianz group companies.
The mixed-use property known locally as “Galeries Lafayette” was first developed in 1996 and designed by French architect Jean Nouvel. It offers a total 35,500 square metres of leasable area providing an outstanding opportunity to develop high quality office, retail and residential space.

TSEV VIII is part of Tishman Speyer's successful European value-add investment fund focusing on repositioning, developing, and redeveloping high-quality office and mixed-use properties in Europe.
The Freshfields team was co-led by real estate partners Johannes Conradi (Hamburg) and Julia Haas (Frankfurt), who were supported by associates Sarah Kutsche and Julian Reinecke (both Düsseldorf, real estate). The team also included partner Martin Schiessl, associates Claus-Peter Knöller, Sebastian Jung (all tax, Frankfurt), counsel Sascha Arnold (Hamburg), associate Katharina Reinhardt (Berlin, both public law), partner Frank Röhling and associates Christoph Hinrichsen and Lara Steinbach (all antitrust, Berlin).
